Found beneath Intermezzo on Pilgrim Street, this secret Newcastle bar is the ultimate date night destination. Head down a narrow staircase to find the teeny tiny candlelit venue. The team here know a thing or two about shaking up the perfect mix, just tell them your likes and dislikes and they'll be more than happy to create your very own bespoke sip.

If you're on the hunt for hidden bars in Newcastle? Look no further than Prohibition Cabaret Bar, the speakeasy-style spot that can be found on Pink Lane. Welcoming some of the North East's top performers every night of the week, this quirky venue is known for its unforgettable jazz performances, hilarious drag shows and jaw-dropping cabaret.

Newcastle's best-loved dive bar, Billy Bootleggers is as quirky as it gets. With a full lineup of events, from film nights to live music, there's never a dull moment. Better yet? Entry is free and bottomless booze start at just £28 - with a huge selection of moonshine and Long Island iced tea cocktails on offer.

While Lola Jeans may not be the first place that springs to mind when you think of secret bars in Newcastle, this picture-perfect spot just so happens to be hiding a charming speakeasy in its basement. The Confession is designed with intimate date nights and exclusive private bashes in mind; think darkened interiors, spirits lining the walls and a menu of tasty tipples.

Albeit not an entirely secret bar, Alvinos is pretty deceptive. While from the outside it may look like a miniscule drinking hole, once inside guests are greeted by three sprawling floors, along with a roomy roof terrace. Sip on cocktails all night long or get stuck into the menu of Tex Mex cuisine.
